About

Hi, my name is Adelaide!

I am a PhD student studying coral reef systems as a member of Dr. Hillary Young's Community Ecology Lab at University of California, Santa Barbara. My research interests lie in large scale abiotic patterns and their connections to ecological processes.

I aim to work towards integrating science with direct communication and outreach, directing my projects towards the intersection of academic scientific need within the communities impacted directly by my study systems.

Before starting my PhD, I received a Master's in Biology studying in Dr. Peter Edmunds' Polyp Lab at California State University, Northridge and a Bachelors of Science in Biology from Brown University. For more information on my research experience, please see my CV below.

In addition to research, I am a passionate writer and illustrator, and spend as much time as I can outside!
